Yoga means ‘to yoke’ – a union of mind, body and soul. And it unites all of us, bringing together a global community where everyone is welcome. Yoga is for every BODY, so it’s never too late to start and it’s a personal practice, everyone on their unique path.
It is important to bring awareness to your body and breath, ease tension, and stay active. The practice of yoga builds strength, improves mobility and helps post-surgery or injury recovery. It can be energizing with strong movement, playful trying new things and relaxing as you stretch and slow down.
In our busy lives, it’s essential we take that pause, find our center, and stay grounded. The practice of mindfulness and meditation reduces stress, improves focus and helps mental clarity. Feeling grateful, at peace, being in tune with your mind, body and breath promotes optimal health and well-being.
Hello, my name is Sarka and thanks for visiting! I am passionate about helping people build strength and mobility through functional movement-based yoga, to find freedom and joy on and off the mat.
In 2013, I completed my first 200-hour alignment-based Hatha and Vinyasa teacher training with Noah Maze, then in 2020, took the 200-hr LYT™ Yoga Method with physical therapist and yoga teacher Lara Heimann to learn more about anatomy, physiology, and neurology so I could help people post-surgery, with injuries or physical limitations.
My style is playful, positive, and informative, sharing optimal alignment cues and tips for a safe, sustainable practice. I teach all levels, all ages, all abilities, and love working one-to-one in person and virtually, tailoring a personalized program to help you reach your goals.
Born in Brno, Czech Republic, I moved to Toronto at an early age and later Vancouver, Canada where I met my husband and lived around the world - New York City, Tampa, Seoul, Singapore, Australia, Bali, San Francisco, Austin, Vancouver – and settling in coastal North Carolina, my husband’s hometown State. I am a mom to two girls, age 9 and 7, and a chocolate Lab.
